The Smartbox connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth and communicates with your vehicle via an OBD-II wireless dongle, allowing it to read live RPM, throttle position, speed, and GPS location data — and automatically open or close your VAREX valve based on the rules you set. What VAREX products is the Smartbox compatible with?

What app do I need?
The VAREX Smartbox uses the VAREX Smartbox App, available for both iOS and Android devices. The connection between the Smartbox and your phone is via Bluetooth.

Does it require professional installation?
The Smartbox is designed to be straightforward to install using the included cable and OBD-II dongle. However if you're unsure about wiring into your VAREX system, we recommend having it fitted by a qualified auto electrician or exhaust technician.

What is the GPS geo mode?
Geo mode lets you set specific geographic zones using your phone's GPS. When your vehicle enters a zone, the Smartbox automatically adjusts your valve to the position you've pre-set for that zone — for example, quietly closed near home and fully open at a track or favourite road.

Can I still use my factory drive modes?
On select vehicles, factory drive modes can be retained with a compatible harness. Contact us to discuss whether your vehicle is supported.

What is the warranty on this product?
The VAREX Smartbox comes with a full manufacturer's warranty from the date of invoice. Your tax invoice is provided with your order.

We only ship our products Australia-wide, using several different carriers across the Country. We select the most suitable Carrier for your order and your area. Please understand that the customer doesn’t have the right to choose a Carrier unless it’s on their own freight account. All orders are provided with a tracking number and must be signed for when receiving goods.

Warranty & Returns

All our products come with a Warranty from the date of invoice. Product Warranty is stated on the listing. Please read our policy below before purchasing, as our staff will not be influenced into changing the policy in any way.

1. Warranty becomes null and void in the case of incorrect utilization or disregard of the instructions

2. Performex Auto is happy to offer replacement items (no refunds) if: the item is dead on arrival or damaged, a manufacturing fault with the Product, or an incorrect item was sent

3. If you have purchased an item, and you would like to return it, we can offer you a refund less a 15% restocking fee to cover Postage & Handling

4. Performex Auto Warranty does not cover any Labor cost (It is the customer's responsibility to check they have been sent the correct parts, before attempting fitting)

5. Transport costs are refundable when a warranty issue has been appropriately recognized and acknowledged by the appropriate staff members at Performex Auto
